You won’t be able to use your VISA debit, Link or Electron card.
You won’t be able to use internet banking.
YOU MUST TAKE ACTION NOW TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT OR TRANSFER YOUR BUSINESS TO ANOTHER FINANCIAL SERVICES PROVIDER.
REMEMBER, IT TAKES TIME TO OPEN ANOTHER CURRENT ACCOUNT.
When you close your account, we will return your money to you. As you will not be able to use internet banking or your VISA Debit or Electron card when you do this, it is important you choose an alternative banking provider BEFORE closing your account.
ASB doesn’t participate in the Current Account Switching Service (CASS), so you will need to request a MANUAL switch at your new financial services provider. All financial services providers should offer this.
We will provide you or your chosen financial services provider with a list of your Standing Orders and Direct Debits, when requested. (Please note, this takes longer than a standard account switch, so you should begin the process now).
DO YOU HAVE AN OVERDRAFT?
If you do, you need to repay it BEFORE you close your account. Please call us on 01236 766851 as soon as possible to arrange this. You can discuss a new overdraft with your new financial services provider as part of your new Current Account application.
If you have any concerns in relation to your ability to repay your overdraft don’t delay. Please contact us as soon as possible.
CLOSING YOUR CURRENT ACCOUNT
You can close your Current Account in several easy ways.
- By approaching an alternative financial services provider who will carry out the switch for you. Your account with us will close as part of this process.
- Complete the ‘Account Closing Form’ enclosed within this letter and return it in the pre-paid envelope to confirm you want to close your account.
- Call us on 01236 766 851: our Customer Contact Centre will then assist you to close your account.
- Pop into one of our branches (Coatbridge, Bellshill or Airdrie) before Friday, 28 April 2017.
