Withdrawal of Service

Please note that our current account service will be withdrawn on Friday 28 April 2017.  We have now closed our current account service to new applications.

During the course of January and February 2017 we will be writing to all of our current account holders to advise of action you will need to take with regards to your Airdrie Savings Bank Current Account.  In the interim, we have set out below key information in relation to action you will be required to take before 28 April 2017.

This information is relevant to, and will affect, the following account types:

  • Diamond Account
  • Electron Account
  • Independent Account

From Friday, 28 April, 2017, we will no longer offer a current account service and our Internet Banking service, in addition to your VISA debit, Link card or Electron card, will be withdrawn. As a result, we need you to close your Account with us before close of business on 28 April 2017 and to move your business to another financial services provider.

Please note that on closing your account we will return your money to you, we will also withdraw your access to both Internet Banking and stop the use of your VISA Debit or Electron card.  It is therefore important that you choose an alternative banking provider before you close your account.

After 28 April 2017, any direct debits, standing orders, or recurring debit card payments will no longer be paid. Additionally, no funds will be paid into your account after this date, including salary payments.

 

Do you have an overdraft?

If you have an overdraft facility you will be required to repay this before you can close your account. Please contact us as soon as possible to make an arrangement to do so on 01236 766851. You can discuss a new overdraft with your chosen financial services provider, which will be part of your new current account application.

 

Closing your Account Type

You can close your Account in several easy ways.

  1. By approaching an alternative financial services provider who will carry out the switch for you.  Your account with us will close as part of this process.
  2. Complete the ‘Account Closing Form’ enclosed within this letter and return it in the pre-paid envelope to confirm you want to close your account. 
  3. Call us on 01236 766 851: our Customer Contact Centre will then assist you to close your account.
  4. Pop into one of our branches (Coatbridge, Bellshill or Airdrie) before Friday, 28 April 2017.

Please also note that we do not participate in the Current Account Switching Service (CASS).  You may, however, approach your chosen alternative financial services provider and, they will contact us for details to allow you to switch. As we are not a member of CASS, you will also need to arrange to transfer all your direct debits and standing orders onto your new account.
